Field Hockey Training is made up of 3 components:

SPEED & AGILITY TRAINING

  • Master running mechanics
  • Improve speed, explosion & change of direction includes resistance, plyometric & assistance training
  • Strong focus on flexibility & anaerobic conditioning

FIELD HOCKEY SPECIFIC STRENGTH PROGRAM

  • Develop lower & upper body power & explosion
  • Strong focus on core development especially transverse core to improve throwing power
  • Enhance hip & glute strength & flexibility

FIELD HOCKEY SPECIFIC SPEED & STRENGTH DEVELOPMENT

  • Improve stick quickness & improve accuracy of stick placement (stick/eye coordination)
  • Enhance reaction time (both visually and auditory
  • Provide mental preparation needed
  • Perform the best strength & speed exercises and drills
